Unspam

Spam callers borrow your own area code and exchange so the call looks local. Spam texts arrive from a new number every day. Unspam lets you write the rule once, and iOS enforces it: block a number, block every number in an exchange, and sort texts by the phrases scammers actually use.

Calls

Block one number, or an area code plus exchange (all 10,000 numbers that start with those six digits).
Always-allow list for a number that a blocked exchange would otherwise cover. Your Contacts always ring; iOS never blocks a contact.
Capacity meter that shows how many numbers your rules cover and stops you before iOS refuses the list.

Texts

Starter packs for toll and delivery scams, prizes, money and crypto pitches, account scares, political blasts and marketing texts. Switch each one on or off.
Your own rules: a phrase, a sender prefix or short code, or a regular expression, sent to Junk, Promotions or Transactions.

What iOS allows, and what it does not

Blocked calls do not ring and do not show as missed, but iOS still lets them leave voicemail and lists them in Recents.
The text filter only sees SMS, MMS and RCS from senders who are not in your Contacts, never iMessage, and never a sender you have replied to three times.
A whole area code is 10 million numbers and does not fit in one blocking extension; block exchanges instead.
