KJV Bible holds the verses you highlight, the passages you bookmark and the reflections you write. That is personal material, and it stays on your device.
Both translations are bundled with the app: the Authorized King James Version and the World English Bible, 31,102 verses each, along with the full-text search index. Nothing is fetched at runtime, so the app works the same in airplane mode as it does on wifi.
Everything you mark or write stays in local storage in the app's own sandbox. We cannot read it, and there is no server holding a copy. If you delete the app it goes with it, so export anything you want to keep first.
Spoken recitation uses the speech synthesis built into iOS, running on the device. No audio is recorded, uploaded or streamed, and no microphone permission is requested, because the app never listens.
If you turn on the daily verse reminder, it is scheduled locally by iOS. The verse is chosen on the device and no notification content passes through a server of ours.
Reading the whole Bible is free. Optional subscriptions and a lifetime unlock are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, and we never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only which purchases exist on your Apple ID.
KJV Bible is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, because it collects no personal information at all.
The King James Version is in the public domain in the United States. The World English Bible is a public domain translation published by eBible.org, and the marking of the words of Christ comes from that translation's own editorial markup.
