The short version
Hexvault runs entirely on your Apple Watch and iPhone. Nothing you do in Hexvault leaves your devices. We do not run servers, do not collect analytics, do not include any third-party SDKs, and do not have user accounts. There is nothing for us to share with anyone because we never receive your data in the first place.
What Hexvault accesses on your devices
- HealthKit data (heart rate, HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, water, caffeine, mindful minutes). Used only to display readings inside Hexvault and to log water/caffeine/mindful sessions you create. Read and written via Apple's HealthKit API, which keeps all data on your devices. Hexvault requests these scopes explicitly the first time a feature needs them; you can revoke any of them in the Health app at any time.
- Location (when in use). Used by Compass, Find My Car, Trail Breadcrumbs, and Park Timer. Coordinates are stored only in your device's App Group container so the iPhone companion can show them; they are never transmitted off-device.
- Microphone. Used only when you tap to record a Voice Note. Audio is saved as a file on your watch and transferred to your iPhone via the system App Group.
- Motion & Fitness. Used by Bubble Level, Protractor, Altimeter, Posture Check, and the watch's water-submersion sensor (Series 10). Sensor readings are processed in-memory and not stored.
- Reminders. Quick Reminders dictated on the watch are saved to the iPhone's Reminders app via EventKit.
- Notifications. The Park Timer schedules a local notification 5 minutes before expiry. No remote/push notifications.
What Hexvault does NOT do
- We do not transmit any data to any server.
- We do not include analytics SDKs (no Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase, Segment, etc.).
- We do not include advertising SDKs.
- We do not include crash-reporting services beyond Apple's built-in opt-in crash reports.
- We do not have user accounts, signups, or logins.
- We do not sell, share, or rent your data because we never collect it.
Third parties
Hexvault does not integrate with any third party.
Children
Hexvault is suitable for general audiences. The App Store age rating is 4+. Hexvault does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Delete the item in the app, or delete the app itself — all Hexvault data is stored locally, so removing the app removes everything (subject to your device backups).
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
