Hexvault Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Hexvault is built by Onmind Studios. It reads health, motion and location data in order to do its job, and this policy states plainly what it touches, where that data goes, and what leaves your device.

The short version

Health data

Several tools read and write Apple Health data, and only with permission you grant explicitly in the Health app or at first use. Hexvault reads heart rate, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate and sleep to power the HRV monitor and the Recovery Score. It writes water, caffeine and Mindful Minutes when you log them with the hydration, caffeine and breathwork tools.

This data is read from and written to HealthKit on your device. It is never transmitted, never used for advertising, never used for any purpose other than showing you the tool you opened, and never shared with anyone — including us. You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in the Health app, and Hexvault will keep working without the tools that depend on them.

Location

The Compass, Find My Car, Trail Breadcrumbs and Park Timer tools use your location while the app is in use, and Breadcrumbs continues in the background while you are recording a trail so it can drop waypoints as you walk. Saved parking spots and waypoints are stored on your device. Your coordinates are never uploaded and never leave the device.

Device sensors

Hexvault is a sensor app: most of its tools exist to read something your Apple Watch or iPhone can measure. Every reading below is taken live, used to draw the tool you are looking at, and either discarded or written to Apple Health on your device. None of it is transmitted anywhere.

Because several of these tools are designed to be used while you are moving — recording a trail, timing a parking meter, logging a dive — Hexvault is permitted to keep reading location and motion in the background during those activities. It stops when the activity does.

Reminders

The Quick Reminder tool needs access to your Reminders so it can create them. Reminders are written straight into Apple’s Reminders app on your device; Hexvault does not keep its own copy and does not read your existing reminders for any other purpose.

How data moves between your watch and your phone

Where a tool hands data from the watch to the iPhone, it does so through a shared app group container on your own devices. Nothing is routed through a server of ours, because we do not operate one.

Data storage

Your pinned and hidden tools, daily goals, preferred currency, tip percentage and other settings are stored locally using standard iOS and watchOS storage protected by hardware encryption. Deleting the app deletes them.

Purchases

Hexvault is a one-time purchase on the App Store. All transactions are handled exclusively by Apple. We have no access to your billing details or payment card information.

Children’s privacy

Hexvault collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and we do not knowingly gather data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date above and post the revised policy at this address.
