ClipWave pulls the audio out of your video recordings and lets you trim it. Those recordings are yours, and the app treats them that way: everything happens on the device and nothing is uploaded.
When you import a recording, iOS gives ClipWave only the item you picked. It reads the audio track to draw a waveform and to export the range you select. It does not scan or index the rest of your library.
Extraction runs through Apple's AVFoundation using the hardware media encoders on your device, and the waveform is computed locally with the Accelerate framework. Exports are written to the destination you choose. No processing happens on a server, because there is no server.
ClipWave contains no networking code, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party SDK. There is no account. It works in Airplane Mode.
ClipWave is a one-time purchase on the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
ClipWave is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anyone, including children, because it collects no personal information at all.
