Babelvault Privacy Policy

Babelvault is built by Onmind Studios on a simple principle: your conversations are yours. This policy explains, plainly, what Babelvault does and doesn't do with your information.

The short version

• Babelvault runs entirely on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your recordings, transcripts, or notes.
• There is no account and no sign-up.
• We collect no analytics, use no tracking, and do not sell or share your data.
• Babelvault makes no network requests for its features and works in airplane mode (after any one-time, on-device language download by Apple).

How Babelvault works

Recording uses your device's microphone. Transcription uses Apple's on-device Speech framework. Translation uses Apple's on-device Translation framework. Summaries, action items, and the "Ask your vault" feature use Apple's Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence) on-device. Because all of this happens on your device, your audio, transcripts, translations, and notes are not transmitted to us or to any third-party AI service.

Information stored on your device

The following stay on your device, protected by iOS data protection, and are never uploaded by us:

• Your recordings, transcripts, translations, and AI-generated notes.
• Folders, tags, people you link to a recording, and your settings.

You can delete any recording at any time, and you may lock the entire app behind Face ID. Removing the app removes its on-device data.

Device permissions

• Microphone & Speech Recognition — to record and transcribe, on-device.
• Contacts — only if you choose to link a person to a recording; the system Contacts picker runs out-of-process and shares only the name you select.

You can review or revoke these at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Language downloads

The first time you use a given language for transcription or translation, Apple may download that language model to your device. That download is handled by Apple's system frameworks; your recordings and transcripts are not sent as part of it.

Purchases

Babelvault is a one-time, paid app purchased through the App Store. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we never see or receive your payment details.

Children's privacy

Babelvault does not collect personal information from anyone, including children, and we do not knowingly gather data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version at this address.
